An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Rakowicz in the 17th minute of play forced FC Builder Sofia's goalkeeper Stamen Kapitanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Moneyball's Agustín Álvarez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stamen Kapitanov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Stamen Kapitanov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agustín Álvarez's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Stamen Kapitanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Bieito, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. FC Builder Sofia's Stamen Kapitanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Bergfelt in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Moneyball getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Jacques Dupont hit a great ball. Dalmo Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yulian Ivanov in the 32nd minute of the match. After 33 minutes Moneyball's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Geraldo Souza who took care of the corner kick. FC Builder Sofia's Geraldo Souza was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dalmo Tasso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After having played for 40 minutes, Roberto Bieito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moneyball's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Bieito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Builder Sofia's attentive Murilo Pirani managed to snatch the ball when Jacques Dupont made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. FC Builder Sofia's Stamen Kapitanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Álvarez in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Exequiel Zeballos was the one to do the kick off. Moneyball made a substitution. Stanislav Mikolášek replaced Mümtaz Yetiş. Jacques Dupont made in the 59th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Natanael Matorin however managed to control. In the 61st match minute, Moneyball was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Klaassen to maneuver through the defense. Moneyball's Oliver Bergman was substituted for Roland Rakowicz. FC Builder Sofia's Stamen Kapitanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cheng Wei Yan in the 82nd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Cheng Wei Yan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Stamen Kapitanov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yulian Ivanov in the 85th minute of play forced Moneyball's goalkeeper Dalmo Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute Agustín Álvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stamen Kapitanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cheng Wei Yan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Stamen Kapitanov made a huge save. In the 90th minute, Roberto Bieito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Agustín Álvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moneyball's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Álvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stamen Kapitanov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
