In the 11th minute Johnathan Bowden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michele Rieger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johnathan Bowden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnathan Bowden's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michele Rieger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match Selebi-Phikwe got a corner. Axenstein's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vlad Tudose ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ragnar Lodbrok in the 24th minute of play forced Selebi-Phikwe's goalkeeper Christof Deroek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abid Bubalo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Michele Rieger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christof Deroek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Bumba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johnathan Bowden blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michele Rieger having to make a save. The Axenstein fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michele Rieger should have stopped the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's goal looked a bit too open when Bodo Oster came free, but Christof Deroek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

If Claudiu Bumba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Selebi-Phikwe's Christof Deroek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Bumba in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute Ragnar Lodbrok shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christof Deroek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yannick Willi hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Michele Rieger came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Selebi-Phikwe's Johnathan Bowden. But to his dismay, Johnathan Bowden quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 78th minute, Johnathan Bowden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Selebi-Phikwe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 81 minutes into the match, Johnathan Bowden had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michele Rieger. Axenstein's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johnathan Bowden was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. If Abid Bubalo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Selebi-Phikwe's Vlad Tudose got a free kick in the 86th minute. Christof Deroek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ragnar Lodbrok in the 89th minute. In the 92nd minute, Johnathan Bowden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Selebi-Phikwe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Johnathan Bowden might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michele Rieger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Johnathan Bowden ran back to his position shaking his head. Michele Rieger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnathan Bowden, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
