In the 25th minute of the match Vc Brye got a corner. Someliéri's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The supporters of Vc Brye booed when Someliéri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iacob Urdoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcio Lacorte took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edvin van der Saar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Giotis Michailidis made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Vieri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Edvin van der Saar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 54th minute Cristian Vieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Oliver-James Gol sped through Vc Brye's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henri-Patrick De Mare. Comunardo Cianci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vc Brye were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
