Rene Vereijt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pancho Puskás, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, William Westelinx notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Szentgotthárd's Kornél Hajdú. Kornél Hajdú was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 24th minute, Károly Selymes made a precise shot to the right of Rene Vereijt. FC Ouagadougou National's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. William Westelinx might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kornél Hajdú. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Westelinx ran back to his position shaking his head. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and József Sallói made a kick off. Rene Vereijt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstanty Dzierwa in the 51st minute of the match. The corner ended in Bálint Benedek almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt did a great save. Szentgotthárd's Károly Selymes got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Konstanty Dzierwa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Rene Vereijt made a huge save. Zakariás Tótfalusi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Rene Vereijt made a huge save. After 91 minutes FC Ouagadougou National's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bálint Benedek who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Szentgotthárd's Konstanty Dzierwa to fire away a dangerous shot which Rene Vereijt despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Bálint Benedek made in the 94th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Konstanty Dzierwa. FC Ouagadougou National were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Szentgotthárd for a fine match.
