After 27 played minutes FC Kyustendil got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Peter. Axell Verduin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Martines in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Martines in the 34th minute of play forced FC Gullegem's goalkeeper Axell Verduin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes FC Gullegem's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Panayot Salabashev who took care of the corner kick. Keilor Navas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barnaba Pilsudski in the 38th minute of play. Axell Verduin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Lindqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axell Verduin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Martines in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oskar Lindqvist was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Pierre-Paul Callaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute of the match FC Kyustendil got a corner. FC Gullegem's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Panayot Salabashev ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on FC Kyustendil's corner Panayot Salabashev fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Axell Verduin quite easily take care of the ball. Axell Verduin made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Oskar Lindqvist sent off a good shot on target. FC Kyustendil's Keilor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Amsler in the 65th minute of play.
