If Ditlev Delmont had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ditlev Delmont, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Nick Heesen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lionel Paly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Ágætis Byrjun's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ladislao Cordarius in the 6th minute. Ladislao Cordarius made a great header on Ágætis Byrjun's corner, it was just that FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly managed to reach the ball for a save. Lionel Paly came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen. But to his dismay, Nick Heesen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Donostia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg got control of the ball when Téo Rosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Pastor Donostia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Nick Heesen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ágætis Byrjun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After having played for 35 minutes, Nick Heesen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nick Heesen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Téo Rosa came free, but Georg Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Ágætis Byrjun from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute Pastor Donostia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Paly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pirmin Jäggi to make the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ágætis Byrjun's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ladislao Cordarius in the 55th minute. A nice corner shot did that Ladislao Cordarius got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lionel Paly quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nick Heesen in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lionel Paly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Philipp Santagapita came free, but Georg Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nick Heesen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. 67 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lionel Paly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pastor Donostia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FC Wil 1900 made a substitution. Sobah Rico replaced İlkan Mahşer. FC Wil 1900's Friedrich Nietzsche was substituted for Curtiz Klein. When Ágætis Byrjun's Pastor Donostia in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Wil 1900's goalie prevented a goal. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Donostia, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Leisibach in the 79th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georges Gladu to maneuver through the defense. Nick Heesen might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lionel Paly. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nick Heesen ran back to his position shaking his head. Lionel Paly made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Nick Heesen sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Nick Heesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lionel Paly was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 93rd minute of the game Sobah Rico made a throw-in which Alex Leisibach played forward. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ditlev Delmont in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ágætis Byrjun walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
