Simamane Cassim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryszard Pilipiec in the 6th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evstati Chomakov in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Podolski saved Pogoń Stawiszyn from getting behind. Ryszard Pilipiec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simamane Cassim having to interfere. In the 13thth minute of the game Ryszard Pilipiec who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iskra Łódź's Simamane Cassim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Iskra Łódź's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Radoslaw Trojanowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Pogoń Stawiszyn's players had a chance to rest. In the 19th minute of the match, Ryszard Pilipiec tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Simamane Cassim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
