Pankracy Malicki came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Simamane Cassim could save by the left post. Simamane Cassim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match Newcastle United got a corner. Iskra Łódź's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zé Paulo Zonta ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Adam Pacholewski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Simamane Cassim quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 15th play minutes Adam Pacholewski shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Simamane Cassim and just under the crossbar into goal. Simamane Cassim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 18th minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Evstati Chomakov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iskra Łódź's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evstati Chomakov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Thomas Vollmar in the 30th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Simamane Cassim kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. In the 33rdth minute of the game Thomas Vollmar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iskra Łódź's Simamane Cassim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Iskra Łódź was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borys Lepucki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simamane Cassim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 36th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zé Paulo Zonta. In the 39th minute, Pankracy Malicki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simamane Cassim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Simamane Cassim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 45th minute. After 47 played minutes Newcastle United got a freekick which was hit by Filip Orling. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Dresik in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 55th minute, Thomas Vollmar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simamane Cassim was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Simamane Cassim came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar. But to his dismay, Thomas Vollmar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The audience was convinced that Thomas Vollmar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simamane Cassim was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Marian Erland hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Pankracy Malicki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simamane Cassim was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Vollmar in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simamane Cassim saved Iskra Łódź from getting behind. Newcastle United's Pankracy Malicki got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
