If Věroslav Skalický had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute of the match GKS Katowice got a corner. Trzebczyk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cezary Kasiewski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ludomir Zacharek was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Cezary Kasiewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as GKS Katowice's Ludomir Zacharek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tymoteusz Kiepski. That made the score 1-1 after 35 minutes of play. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Trzebczyk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cezary Kasiewski was slow to take the kick. During this time GKS Katowice's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Trzebczyk's goalie and right to Patryk Cymbal. Trzebczyk's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ludomir Zacharek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tymoteusz Kiepski having to interfere. Ludomir Zacharek succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 45th playminute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ludomir Zacharek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
