Jannick Melkval showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold van Herwijnen in the 31st minute of the match. Andries Mangelschot took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kenneth van der Leegte. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Van Mechelen was the one to do the kick off. In the 66th minute, Andries Mangelschot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kenneth van der Leegte was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Arnold van Herwijnen scored 2-5 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jannick Melkval, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of YR Mechelen booed when SV Wissenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 94 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Sjors Breugel. SV Wissenkerke were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over YR Mechelen's much stronger midfield.
