The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Kanaryalar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esbjörn Bocklund to maneuver through the defense. 3 minutes into the match, Kanaryalar's goalkeeper Adolfo Ruisko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Urbasa Sirvent. Kanaryalar's Adolfo Ruisko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Kanaryalar from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Kanaryalar's Olle Sundberg got a free kick in the 8th minute. Kurt Ekberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vural Sadri in the 11th minute of play. With an all-out effort, IFK Gladdarna's Adolfo Ruisko threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Snorre Snabb, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Vural Sadri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute IFK Gladdarna were awarded a corner. Urbasa Sirvent went to the cornerflag to take it. If Vural Sadri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. IFK Gladdarna's Kurt Ekberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vural Sadri in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kanaryalar's goalkeeper Adolfo Ruisko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugeniusz Cichewski in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Ruisko saved Kanaryalar from getting behind. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kanaryalar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Urbasa Sirvent was slow to take the kick. During this time IFK Gladdarna's players had a chance to rest. Vural Sadri took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kurt Ekberg. Kurt Ekberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Adolfo Ruisko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Trulsson in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Kanaryalar's goalkeeper Adolfo Ruisko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emil Trulsson. In the 42nd minute Vural Sadri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurt Ekberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Kanaryalar's goal looked a bit too open when Eugeniusz Cichewski came free, but Adolfo Ruisko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Olle Sundberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurt Ekberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by IFK Gladdarna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vintilă Bordeanu was slow to take the kick. During this time Kanaryalar's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Kanaryalar's corner Vintilă Bordeanu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kurt Ekberg quite easily take care of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vural Sadri to strike the kick off in the second half. Kurt Ekberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olle Sundberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 75thth minute of the game Emil Trulsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kanaryalar's Adolfo Ruisko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alvar Aspengren might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kurt Ekberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alvar Aspengren ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the match, IFK Gladdarna's goalkeeper Kurt Ekberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvar Aspengren. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Olle Sundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kanaryalar's supporters rose to their feet, but Olle Sundberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kurt Ekberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kurt Ekberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. IFK Gladdarna were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
