Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simon Hellkvist in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karl-Åke Qvalfeldt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valentin Åkerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Njurenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Simon Hellkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Djurgården United's Karl-Åke Qvalfeldt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben Trää in the 11th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Morgan Apelquist managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Simon Hellkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simon Hellkvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ytterby FF getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Simon Hellkvist hit a great ball. Ernst Burman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Valentin Åkerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Sverker Mossberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Djurgården United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ytterby FF the free kick. The supporters of Ytterby FF booed when Djurgården United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sverker Mossberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simon Hellkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl-Åke Qvalfeldt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Valentin Åkerberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sonny Njurenius in the 29th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sonny Njurenius got free with Valentin Åkerberg in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ytterby FF's Stig-Åke Brolin got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Ernst Burman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentin Åkerberg. Ytterby FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernst Burman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Stig-Åke Brolin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Qvalfeldt having to interfere. Mats Almkvist hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernst Burman in the 47th minute of play forced Ytterby FF's goalkeeper Valentin Åkerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ernst Burman was the one to do the kick off. Valentin Åkerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sonny Njurenius, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernst Burman in the 56th minute of play forced Ytterby FF's goalkeeper Valentin Åkerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Ytterby FF's goal looked a bit too open when Sonny Njurenius came free, but Valentin Åkerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bertil Lindholm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Åkerberg having to interfere. Ytterby FF's Fredric Ahlkvist was substituted for Mårten Wiklund. Sonny Njurenius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Djurgården United's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertil Lindholm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Åkerberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 85 played minutes Ytterby FF got a freekick which was hit by Sivert Hultin. When Sivert Hultin fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ytterby FF's protests and gave Sivert Hultin a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Djurgården United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ytterby FF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
