Douglas Christian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Makis Samaropoulos in the 36th minute of the match. Slower Lower FC's Ross Buchanan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Slower Lower FC from getting a goal against them. After 47 played minutes Slower Lower FC got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Florinio. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Makis Samaropoulos was the one to do the kick off. Adelaide's attentive Carleton Atkin managed to snatch the ball when Edmund Bochynski made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Jörn Emmel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Douglas Christian. That made the score 0-3 in the 54 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Slower Lower FC's Edmund Bochynski got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A hard shot 67 in the game by Makis Samaropoulos from a close distance when the talented Douglas Christian managed to make a qualified save. Adelaide's players were relieved. 70 minutes into the game, Nereo Florinio threw the ball into play from the sideline. Adelaide's Barnett Collins quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 72nd minute of the game Belton Trenoweth made a throw-in which Reese Johnson played forward. In the 78th minute, Reese Johnson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ross Buchanan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Douglas Christian successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 83rd minute Makis Samaropoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Christian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Adelaide booed when Slower Lower FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Gustafson didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Slower Lower FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Hector Hickman hit a great ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of Slower Lower FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Adelaide side.
