If Fedele Evangelista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg 吴卫天 managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Merceron United's Dinei Fernandez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dinei Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but 吴卫天 made a huge save. 吴卫天 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edoardo Pascucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Dinei Fernandez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of 吴卫天 when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Merceron United defense, Fedele Evangelista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniele Bucciarelli. The Merceron United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniele Bucciarelli should have stopped the shot. 吴卫天 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edoardo Pascucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fedele Evangelista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniele Bucciarelli having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fedele Evangelista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Merceron United's Dinei Fernandez made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 吴卫天 was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dinei Fernandez in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 吴卫天 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atletico Benevento's 吴卫天 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinei Fernandez in the 66th minute of play. Alberto Lusi kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Daniele Bucciarelli made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Fedele Evangelista sent off a good shot on target. Atletico Benevento's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
