A collision led to Rosenborg getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Elia Magliocco hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Saint Côme de Fresné's zone, Antonello Desiderio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noël Péret came out of the goal and Antonello Desiderio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Saint Côme de Fresné's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Carioca came free, but Noël Péret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Marcos Carioca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosenborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 25th minute, Viggo Hellgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Carioca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Noël Péret having to make a save. 29 minutes into the game, Rosenborg's Viggo Hellgren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noël Péret made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 32 minutes into the game, Marcos Carioca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Noël Péret was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Freijo in the 35th minute of play forced Saint Côme de Fresné's goalkeeper Noël Péret to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rosenborg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Viggo Hellgren in the 36th minute. Rosenborg's Wiktor Narbut was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Noël Péret in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Andrea Ronconi's late challenge caught a Saint Côme de Fresné's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrea Ronconi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Saint Côme de Fresné booed when Rosenborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Ronconi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Carioca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Noël Péret was a little too slow when Marcos Carioca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-5. Saint Côme de Fresné's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Marcos Carioca scored to the left of an out of position Noël Péret, making the score, 0-6. With a little luck, Saint Côme de Fresné's Noël Péret got control of the ball when Luciano Lluques tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Elia Magliocco suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Rosenborg's Florian Bulla was substituted for Elia Magliocco. After 68 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Patrice Sénéchal. In the 69th minute of the match, Nunez Freijo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Noël Péret was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Noël Péret stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Lluques's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. In the 73rd match minute, Rosenborg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fortunato Zola to maneuver through the defense. Antonello Desiderio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 79 minutes, Simon Mertz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saint Côme de Fresné and the Rosenborg players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Simon Mertz. Luciano Lluques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Noël Péret made a huge save. In the 90th minute, Wiktor Narbut made a precise shot to the right of Noël Péret. Saint Côme de Fresné's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. Luciano Lluques received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noël Péret came out and tried to block the shot, but Luciano Lluques slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 94th minute.
