The Huracan FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arne Pettersson should have stopped the shot. Arne Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Guadalupe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Jaen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Petru Nisporeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When CJ Klose came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Huracan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that CJ Klose couldn't finish the play. Arne Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Guadalupe, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Liu Yan Yan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arne Pettersson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Arne Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Örjan Forssell, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 47th match minute, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cortez Morera to maneuver through the defense. Cortez Morera hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Örjan Forssell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Deportivo Peñarol FIFV getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Txanton Balbanea hit a great ball. Arne Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Liu Yan Yan in the 58th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Blai Bacardi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauricio Guadalupe in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Pettersson saved Huracan FC from getting behind. After having played for 70 minutes, CJ Klose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huracan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but CJ Klose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Oriche Ruelas was substituted for Mauricio Guadalupe. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV made a substitution. Peyo Contera replaced Liu Yan Yan. Grigore Ponor lost his temper 73 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 73rd minute, one of Huracan FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Huracan FC.
