Ioan Ploieșteanu started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ioan Ploieșteanu in the 6th minute of play forced F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s goalkeeper Emilian Ferenț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mircea Cobâlcescu's late challenge caught a Hope AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Cobâlcescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th match minute, F.C.DrobetA-Știința- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Cobâlcescu to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the game, Tommie Jorna threw the ball into play from the sideline. F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s Pavel Stafie quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Emilian Ferenț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bordat Aries in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s goalkeeper Emilian Ferenț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manole Brănescu. In the 27th minute Radu Geangu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Ferenț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 28 minutes, Manole Brănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hope AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manole Brănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manole Brănescu got free with Emilian Ferenț in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s Emilian Ferenț proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save F.C.DrobetA-Știința- from getting a goal against them. Emilian Ferenț was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Bordat Aries capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bordat Aries really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Emilian Ferenț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioan Ploieșteanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Emilian Ferenț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radu Geangu in the 51st minute of play. Emilian Ferenț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Brănescu in the 58th minute of the match. After 61 minutes of play, Hope AFC's Manole Bogza made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilian Ferenț was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hope AFC made a substitution. Codrin Ieremia replaced Tommie Jorna. Emilian Ferenț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ioan Ploieșteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Hope AFC's Bordat Aries managed to work through F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Bordat Aries dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Hope AFC made a substitution. Mihăiţă Iriza replaced Bordat Aries. In the 74th minute Mihăiţă Iriza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Ferenț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hope AFC were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Manole Bogza took the corner. 78 minutes into the match, F.C.DrobetA-Știința-'s goal looked a bit too open when Manole Brănescu came free, but Emilian Ferenț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the F.C.DrobetA-Știința- defense, Mihăiţă Iriza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emilian Ferenț. The F.C.DrobetA-Știința- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilian Ferenț should have stopped the shot. In the 90th minute, Mihăiţă Iriza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hope AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 93 minutes into the game, Hope AFC's Manole Brănescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emilian Ferenț made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Hope AFC fully deserved thier win.
