The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcus Sjöö made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Ove Ånger in the 4th minute of play. Samuel Dusett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 9 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Giorgio Chiellini. In the 13th minute Torgny Fernström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Bergström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Sjöö didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josef Hellbom went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Monia&Ibrahim's Marcus Sjöö proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Monia&Ibrahim from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute Samuel Dusett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Bergström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Leeds United FC defense, Inge Collin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John Bergström. The Leeds United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Bergström should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Dusett in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Bergström saved Leeds United FC from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Edgar Rosén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcus Sjöö made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Vahdet Kotuzhan sent off a good shot on target. When Stig Rosen fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leeds United FC's protests and gave Stig Rosen a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Leeds United FC got a freekick which was hit by Stig Rosen. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jan-Ove Ånger made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Torgny Fernström in the 50th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Bergström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 55 minutes into the match, Leeds United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inge Collin came free, but John Bergström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torgny Fernström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but John Bergström made a huge save. Leeds United FC's Vahdet Kotuzhan got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Leeds United FC booed when Monia&Ibrahim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inge Collin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Leeds United FC! Marcus Sjöö took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vahdet Kotuzhan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Leonard Bronicki fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leeds United FC's protests and gave Leonard Bronicki a yellow card for diving instead. Monia&Ibrahim made a substitution. Isak Bengtsson replaced Jan-Åke Johnsson. Leonard Bronicki hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the match Leeds United FC got a corner. Monia&Ibrahim's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rubén Albizua ran over to the corner to take the kick. Edgard Costa hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Leeds United FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Inge Collin scored to the left of an out of position John Bergström, making the score, 1-3. In the 95th minute, Sten Pil reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of John Bergström. The goal made the score 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Monia&Ibrahim eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
