Hannes Sandwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Nørbjerg, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The shot was a little too simple and Gert Altorn could save by the left post. Gert Altorn made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Felipe Gol sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute of the match, Felipe Gol tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gert Altorn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Hannes Sandwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John-Arne Riise, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes in the game, Oscar Drake fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gert Altorn having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John-Arne Riise stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Per Nørbjerg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute Felipe Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gert Altorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leicester Foxes Academy's Hannes Sandwall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Leicester Foxes Academy from getting a goal against them. John-Arne Riise received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hannes Sandwall came out and tried to block the shot, but John-Arne Riise slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 66th minute. After 70 played minutes Hønning got a freekick which was hit by Torben Steenhede. If Felipe Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Per Nørbjerg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Pennant in the 83rd minute of play forced Hønning's goalkeeper Gert Altorn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Leicester Foxes Academy lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
