In the 23rd minute Radomil Mietus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piara Tittarelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reconquistense FC's Piara Tittarelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Verón in the 24th minute of play. Club Sportivo Quilmes were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Reconquistense FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waldemar Przybylo took the corner. Waldemar Przybylo made a great header on Club Sportivo Quilmes's corner, it was just that Reconquistense FC's Piara Tittarelli managed to reach the ball for a save. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Piara Tittarelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomil Mietus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armindo Amado made a kick off. Waldemar Przybylo kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radomil Mietus got free with Piara Tittarelli in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Piara Tittarelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnold Ponk in the 57th minute of play. Armindo Amado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Firman having to interfere. When Armindo Amado came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Reconquistense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo Amado couldn't finish the play.
