Mickaël Landreau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 16th minute of play. Gavino Hitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickaël Landreau having to interfere. The excitement rose when Atlético Montserrat's Segundo Belarmo after 47 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Racing Club's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Francisco Raymond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ceferino Iraido in the 68th minute of the match. Mickaël Landreau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Edvin Dalgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
