Vélez Juniors's attentive Celedonio Eriz managed to snatch the ball when Teobaldo Rocio made a throw-in in the 6th minute of the game. In the 10thth minute of the game Sebati Çiftçibaşı who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebati Çiftçibaşı in the 13th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Cristian Naike dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leonel Cefero, 1-0. Sebati Çiftçibaşı might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elpidio Vitin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebati Çiftçibaşı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Cordarrel in the 33rd minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Cefero was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Naike showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 36 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebati Çiftçibaşı in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elpidio Vitin saved Vélez Juniors from getting behind. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Sebati Çiftçibaşı made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Sebati Çiftçibaşı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Chamaicó getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Leonardo Gai hit a great ball. Cristian Naike's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonel Cefero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Vélez Juniors were awarded a corner. Santos Fonda went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Vélez Juniors's corner Santos Fonda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leonel Cefero quite easily take care of the ball. In the 59th minute, Cristian Naike left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Huib Panter's late challenge caught a Vélez Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Huib Panter helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Chamaicó's Huib Panter got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Chamaicó's Faustino Matai was substituted for Sebati Çiftçibaşı. After 64 played minutes Chamaicó got a freekick which was hit by Huib Panter. After 66 played minutes Vélez Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Melchor Napier. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Huib Panter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chamaicó's supporters rose to their feet, but Huib Panter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elpidio Vitin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonel Cefero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Naike, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 78 minutes into the match, Chamaicó's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Checa came free, but Leonel Cefero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Cordarrel in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Faustino Matai came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Vincente Santiago made a precise shot to the right of Elpidio Vitin. Vélez Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. In the 96th minute, Cristian Naike ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonel Cefero was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. Vélez Juniors's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
