After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Temperley's Rolando Lopez got a free kick in the 8th minute. Ioan Voicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Bonelli in the 9th minute of play. Ioan Voicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Mino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Anthony Bonelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Voicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Medina in the 23rd minute of play forced Club Atlético Temperley's goalkeeper Ioan Voicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anthony Bonelli in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ioan Voicu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Santiago Mino sped through Club Atlético Temperley's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ioan Voicu. With a little luck, Palermo's Alfredo Joey got control of the ball when Gaston Laurendi tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Bonelli in the 32nd minute of play forced Club Atlético Temperley's goalkeeper Ioan Voicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético Temperley's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anthony Bonelli was slow to take the kick. During this time Palermo's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Palermo's Anthony Bonelli to fire away a dangerous shot which Ioan Voicu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony Bonelli in the 38th minute of play. Palermo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anthony Bonelli in the 39th minute. Maximino Gonzalez struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Ioan Voicu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palermo. When Ulises Lartaun fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Temperley's protests and gave Ulises Lartaun a yellow card for diving instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santiago Mino made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Cristiano Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Temperley's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Correia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Joey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Temperley from getting a goal against them. Ioan Voicu made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Santiago Mino sent off a good shot on target. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Cordarell in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Hermengildo Raymon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Joey. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermengildo Raymon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Palermo's Anacleto Itzaina was substituted for Alfred Olsson. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Correia in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arkadiusz Glowacki to maneuver through the defense. Aníbal Solares hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Temperley from getting a goal against them. Rolando Lopez scored 2-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredo Joey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Santiago Mino hit a great ball. The supporters of Palermo booed when Club Atlético Temperley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
