Pantelis Kotoulas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celedonio Eguen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. After some careless play in the Matheu City FC defense, Pantelis Kotoulas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celedonio Eguen. The Matheu City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celedonio Eguen should have stopped the shot. Marcial Bakar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrosio Umea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Aves Negras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pantelis Kotoulas made a kick off. The supporters of Matheu City FC booed when Aves Negras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tamer Yalçıner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celedonio Eguen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pantelis Kotoulas in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Matheu City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eulalio Santio to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guter Tobia got free with Celedonio Eguen in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guter Tobia struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Celedonio Eguen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aves Negras. Aves Negras's Marcial Bakar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ambrosio Umea in the 94th minute of play.
