Atalan Tunçkaya dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Floriana Celtics booed when Totaurios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionel Zărnescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th match minute, Floriana Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Vella to maneuver through the defense. Totaurios FC's Bartolo Tipi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 11th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Richard Lentini but with some difficulty. 13 minutes into the game, Olgierd Dawiec cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Atalan Tunçkaya was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Olgierd Dawiec recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Floriana Celtics's Kyle Thake in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 24th minute Kyle Thake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atalan Tunçkaya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Baladi struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Richard Lentini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Totaurios FC. Richard Lentini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ionel Zărnescu in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute of the match Totaurios FC got a corner. Floriana Celtics's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bartolo Tipi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bartolo Tipi made a great header on Totaurios FC's corner, it was just that Floriana Celtics's Richard Lentini managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 29 minutes, Kyle Thake managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Floriana Celtics's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyle Thake was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Floriana Celtics were awarded a corner. Matt Sciortino went to the cornerflag to take it. Alex Testaferrata Viani blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Atalan Tunçkaya having to make a save. Atalan Tunçkaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Thake in the 42nd minute of play. Matt Sciortino hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ionel Zărnescu in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Lentini saved Floriana Celtics from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ionel Zărnescu made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olgierd Dawiec got free with Atalan Tunçkaya in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Atalan Tunçkaya successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience was convinced that Kyle Thake's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Atalan Tunçkaya was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Richard Lentini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionel Zărnescu in the 61st minute of play. Atalan Tunçkaya made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olgierd Dawiec in the 63rd minute. In the 69th match minute, Totaurios FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laureano Castulo to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kyle Thake during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Totaurios FC booed when Floriana Celtics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kyle Thake didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ionel Zărnescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Lentini having to interfere. Floriana Celtics's Edward Ellis was substituted for Giorgio Caruana. Atalan Tunçkaya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Thake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atalan Tunçkaya made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Robby Baggio sent off a good shot on target. Atalan Tunçkaya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Thake, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute.
