If Isaias Oso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Óscar Cordoba came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Diablofaryd F.C.'s Wagner Kill. But to his dismay, Wagner Kill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Cesar Lain kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Isaias Oso sent off a good shot on target. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wagner Kill, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute Wagner Kill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venancio Emesto kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When Diablofaryd F.C.'s Wagner Kill in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting de Gijón's goalie prevented a goal. Isaias Osos short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Óscar Cordoba to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Grzegorz Szamotulski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Emesto in the 31st minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Venancio Emesto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Grzegorz Szamotulski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sporting de Gijón were furious when Rune Fanström was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 41 minutes into the game, one of Sporting de Gijón:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isaias Oso to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Wagner Kill cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Óscar Cordoba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Diablofaryd F.C.'s Cesar Lain got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wagner Kill in the 60th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Oso came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Sporting de Gijón defense, Isaias Oso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Óscar Cordoba. The Sporting de Gijón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Óscar Cordoba should have stopped the shot. Diablofaryd F.C.'s Grzegorz Szamotulski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Diablofaryd F.C. from getting a goal against them. Isaias Oso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Cordoba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wayne Rooney got free with Grzegorz Szamotulski in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Oso came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wagner Kill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Cordoba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Wagner Kill scored 6-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Óscar Cordoba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sporting de Gijón's Mario Zanabria was substituted for Venancio Emesto. In the 83rd minute Isaias Oso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Óscar Cordoba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wagner Kill's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Efrain Luar kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 7-1 when Isaias Oso sped through Sporting de Gijón's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Óscar Cordoba. Wagner Kill took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Óscar Cordoba. Óscar Cordoba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. Grzegorz Szamotulski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Maradona in the 91st minute of the match.
