The referee ignored SV PM Cottbus's protests and gave Erik Niva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of O rey Iván booed when SV PM Cottbus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Niva didn't get a good kick on the ball. SV PM Cottbus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mihály Fülep was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihály Fülep in the 40th minute of play forced SV PM Cottbus's goalkeeper Julius Tenbruck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julius Tenbruck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihály Fülep in the 43rd minute of the match. After 47 played minutes O rey Iván got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Fliz. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Fliz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Mihály Fülep managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. O rey Iván's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihály Fülep was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as O rey Iván's Mihály Fülep slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julius Tenbruck. That made the score 0-7 after 56 minutes of play. O rey Iván made a substitution. Jacinto Resto replaced Modesto Garcia. O rey Iván's Abel Panfilo was substituted for Mihály Fülep. In the 62nd minute Ansgar Kleim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Barea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julius Tenbruck had great luck who in the 65thth minute grab hold of the ball when Abel Panfilo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Aristides Barea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Udo Renger in the 82nd minute of the match. SV PM Cottbus's Julius Tenbruck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Panfilo in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 minutes SV PM Cottbus's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augusto Fliz who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jacinto Resto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julius Tenbruck quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julius Tenbruck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Panfilo in the 87th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SV PM Cottbus's Federico Ecke got a free kick in the 88th minute. Abel Panfilo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julius Tenbruck having to make a save. Julius Tenbruck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Panfilo's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the match, SV PM Cottbus's goalkeeper Julius Tenbruck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Panfilo. 96 minutes into the match, O rey Iván's goal looked a bit too open when Ansgar Kleim came free, but Aristides Barea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The O rey Iván supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing O rey Iván would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
