After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Toninho Prestes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Márcio Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustafa Hamit Afgan, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Mustafa Hamit Afgan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Márcio Freitas. Palmeiras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mustafa Hamit Afgan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Márcio Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zheng Chao Hui in the 27th minute of the match. Márcio Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zheng Chao Hui in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Horácio Lara reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony Schumacher. The goal made the score 1-1. The audience was convinced that Afonso Paes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Schumacher was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Tony Schumacher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Volkan Demirel's late challenge caught a Palmeiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Freitas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonso Paes made a kick off. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Mustafa Hamit Afgan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Téo Trancoso in the 55th minute of play forced ☆☆Pαbɭó Escóbαr☆☆'s goalkeeper Tony Schumacher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Maciel to maneuver through the defense. ☆☆Pαbɭó Escóbαr☆☆'s Mustafa Hamit Afgan managed to work through Palmeiras's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zheng Chao Hui got free with Márcio Freitas in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Zheng Chao Hui fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ☆☆Pαbɭó Escóbαr☆☆'s protests and gave Zheng Chao Hui a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Zheng Chao Hui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horácio Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match.
