The crowd rose to their feet as Dieguinho de Almeida kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matthias Kiempe. That made the score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. Dorian Valladares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Matthias Kiempe made a huge save. Rogério Ceni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Ekblom in the 28th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eddie Rosen during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
