The Faroe Islands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Poul Enok Kwieciński had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. In the 41stth minute of the game Poul Stanković who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Faroe Islands's Símun Niclasen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ysmael Marfil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ingi Castilho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryszard Borcz in the 46th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Poul Stanković made a kick off. When René Jacobsen came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Faroe Islands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that René Jacobsen couldn't finish the play. Ásbjørn Jónsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Ysmael Marfil made a huge save. Poul Enok Kwieciński could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ysmael Marfil made a huge save. 89 minutes into the game, Otávio Penha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DINAMO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Faroe Islands the free kick. With an all-out effort, Faroe Islands's Ysmael Marfil threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Poul Stanković, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Faroe Islands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
