Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alessio Mao in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Spencer Shearer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kania Gostyń's Alessio Mao managed to work through Borussia Dortmund's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Alessio Mao dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Spencer Shearer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessio Mao, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute.
