The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Serafim Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Valle in the 3rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Serafim Neiva successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rodrigo Galatto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nasserredine Sam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serafim Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Serafim Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Koehler in the 10th minute of play. S.C Corinthians Paulista's Rodrigo Galatto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Angel Patrickson in the 11th minute of play. Benê da Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Serafim Neiva made a huge save. Nassim Mansouri hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute of the match Cido Rosa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Serafim Neiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to S.C Corinthians Paulista getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Zézinho Koehler hit a great ball. Serafim Neiva made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Benê da Mata sent off a good shot on target. Serafim Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Friedrich Engels in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Galatto saved S.C Corinthians Paulista from getting behind. In the 25th minute Nasserredine Sam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Galatto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.C Corinthians Paulista's Rodrigo Galatto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friedrich Engels in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Zézinho Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th match minute, S.C Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Sanches to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, S.C Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Friedrich Engels came free, but Rodrigo Galatto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Abderrachid Zeghdoud got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After some careless play in the S.C Corinthians Paulista defense, Nasserredine Sam kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Galatto. The S.C Corinthians Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Galatto should have stopped the shot. The S.C Corinthians Paulista players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL were winning 0-1.

When Fred Dias fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C Corinthians Paulista's protests and gave Fred Dias a yellow card for diving instead. Fred Dias hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. In the 51st minute of the match, Nasserredine Sam tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rodrigo Galatto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
