In the 10th match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Harkaitz to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Lütfi Kutlubay got control of the ball when Marcial Munio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcial Munio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lütfi Kutlubay. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. If Chiquinho Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquinho Pombal in the 23rd minute of play. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Thibault Delanoë got a free kick in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcial Munio in the 33rd minute of play forced Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's goalkeeper Lütfi Kutlubay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the San Martin de Tucuman defense, Thibault Delanoë kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cecilio Jax. The San Martin de Tucuman fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cecilio Jax should have stopped the shot. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Martin de Tucuman's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Otávio Freitas was slow to take the kick. During this time Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Otávio Freitas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cecilio Jax quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lütfi Kutlubay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcial Munio went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chiquinho Pombal was the one to do the kick off. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Lütfi Kutlubay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Munio in the 54th minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Thibault Delanoë came free, but Cecilio Jax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lütfi Kutlubay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Munio in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute San Martin de Tucuman were awarded a corner. Anastasio Amesti went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 76th minute, Marcial Munio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Martin de Tucuman fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Cecilio Jax made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Chiquinho Pombal sent off a good shot on target. Cecilio Jax made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chiquinho Pombal in the 87th minute.
