Chile's Abundio Manzano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emanuel Podgoreanu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Chile's Ervigio Ojeda got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ervigio Ojeda in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Podgoreanu saved CSD Concepción from getting behind. 91 minutes into the game, Ervigio Ojeda recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emanuel Podgoreanu. Ervigio Ojeda showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The CSD Concepción supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Chile's performance. The match ended with a win for Chile.
