An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaudencio Ubarna in the 7th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Zeledon Curcio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilie Leahu's late challenge caught a Yala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ilie Leahu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, Yala's Alberto Jaunti seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alberto Jaunti the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Yala protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alberto Jaunti had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 21 minutes into the match, FC Oltul Slatina's Denis Cângea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeledon Curcio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 36th minute Iurie Avacariței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Cângea kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Yala's Zeledon Curcio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Ubarna in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 54 played minutes Yala got a freekick which was hit by Anton Best. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denis Cângea during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, Denis Cângea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute Gelu Coman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes, Herbert Hök mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Oltul Slatina and the Yala players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Oltul Slatina's Herbert Hök got a free kick in the 66th minute. The supporters of FC Oltul Slatina booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Bizen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carolo Bizen hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the game, Marcial Lore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Oltul Slatina the free kick. After 80 played minutes Yala got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Lore. FC Oltul Slatina's Nichifor Bornescu was substituted for Gelu Coman. Marcial Lore kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Zeledon Curcio came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Oltul Slatina's Gaudencio Ubarna. But to his dismay, Gaudencio Ubarna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. FC Oltul Slatina's Manuel Lovinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Lore in the 90th minute of play. Matei Mârza kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Manuel Lovinescu came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Yala's Generoso Pinto. But to his dismay, Generoso Pinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. FC Oltul Slatina were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Yala to leave the ground with a draw.
