Manuel Lovinescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Freddy Valentine went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddy Valentine in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Lovinescu saved FC Oltul Slatina from getting behind. Zeledon Curcio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Avacariței, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddy Valentine in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Lovinescu saved FC Oltul Slatina from getting behind. Gaudencio Ubarna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Zeledon Curcio made a huge save. Manuel Lovinescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaud Konieczny in the 37th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, FC Oltul Slatina's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Valentine came free, but Manuel Lovinescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Oltul Slatina's Manuel Lovinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Bizen in the 45th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iurie Avacariței to make the kick off. If Freddy Valentine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Lore's late challenge caught a FC Oltul Slatina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FC Oltul Slatina players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
