The corner led to Chile's Ervigio Ojeda getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Pan Lin Zhen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Barrionuevo. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pan Lin Zhen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Zachariasz Dudkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ervigio Ojeda, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Francisco Barrionuevo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bautista Marcó, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The supporters of Chile booed when CRUZ DEL SUR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 46 played minutes CRUZ DEL SUR got a freekick which was hit by Fan Yong Zhan.

The wind increased when Pan Lin Zhen made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, CRUZ DEL SUR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bard Bom to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Lin Zhen in the 56th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Francisco Barrionuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Ervigio Ojeda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ervigio Ojeda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chile's Alfonso Goicoechea was substituted for Rogelio Mendiola. Chile's Carlo Darrigrande was substituted for Ervigio Ojeda. Francisco Barrionuevo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pan Lin Zhen in the 60th minute of play. If Pan Lin Zhen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CRUZ DEL SUR made a substitution. Fabio Zorondo replaced Ronnie Odell. Alfonso Goicoechea struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Zachariasz Dudkowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. In the 76th minute, Eustacio Antonucci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francisco Barrionuevo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 82nd minute, Bautista Marcó hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 82 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Olivos. 84 minutes into the match, CRUZ DEL SUR's Bautista Marcó sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Barrionuevo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Pablo Soto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zachariasz Dudkowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute Eustacio Antonucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Barrionuevo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
