The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Agapito Payet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beila Cacho in the 5th minute of the match. U21 Venezuela's Gaufred Enriquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Totti in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramon Totti got free with Gaufred Enriquez in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rayman Guiral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Gaufred Enriquez made a huge save. U21 Peru were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after U21 Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cordario Escamilla took the corner. Agapito Payet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beila Cacho's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After 19 minutes, Beila Cacho made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Peru's Agapito Payet tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the last second Gaufred Enriquez throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ramon Totti in the 23rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Ramon Totti took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gaufred Enriquez. Gaufred Enriquez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Agapito Payet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano Lobado, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Vincent Mirabel hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramon Totti in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gaufred Enriquez saved U21 Venezuela from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Rayman Guiral kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Hernan Dorronsoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Peru's Isaio Cobarrubias was substituted for Gilesindo Colombres. Agapito Payet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Dorronsoro in the 64th minute of the match. The supporters of U21 Venezuela booed when U21 Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Dorronsoro in the 72nd minute of play forced U21 Peru's goalkeeper Agapito Payet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaufred Enriquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Totti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaufred Enriquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Totti, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cordario Escamilla was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Peru's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Ramon Totti managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramon Totti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaufred Enriquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agapito Payet came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Venezuela's Hernan Dorronsoro. But to his dismay, Hernan Dorronsoro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The supporters of U21 Venezuela booed when U21 Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Revenga didn't get a good kick on the ball.
