The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabio Betadur showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Coutinho in the 22nd minute of play forced LA DEL MONO's goalkeeper Fabio Betadur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. La Mora CAT's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Severino Coutinho in the 23rd minute. After 24 minutes LA DEL MONO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Severino Coutinho who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Coronel Canyelles got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. In the 40th minute, Aloisio Lastras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, La Mora CAT's Coronel Andres got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

La Mora CAT's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vince Easton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
