Davide Negri started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's Cesare Tristezza got control of the ball when Edward Golec tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mateusz Sakowicz got free with Cesare Tristezza in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute Mateusz Sakowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesare Tristezza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to C.C. Ortigia Siracusa getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Fabiano Zisser hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, KKS Lech Poznań's Ignacy Czekaj nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesare Tristezza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateusz Sakowicz in the 19th minute of play forced C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's goalkeeper Cesare Tristezza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Nuñez hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes C.C. Ortigia Siracusa got a freekick which was hit by Francesco Cera. Cesare Tristezza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateusz Sakowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's goalkeeper Cesare Tristezza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrzej Pietrowiak. After 31 minutes of play, KKS Lech Poznań's Mateusz Sakowicz made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesare Tristezza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrzej Pietrowiak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Cesare Tristezza made a huge save. If Mateusz Sakowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's Fabiano Zisser got a free kick in the 44th minute. Cesare Tristezza made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Mateusz Sakowicz sent off a good shot on target. In the 47th minute, one of KKS Lech Poznań:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KKS Lech Poznań. The referee gave C.C. Ortigia Siracusa a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fabiano Zisser, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KKS Lech Poznań's Józef Mlynarczyk. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Mateusz Sakowicz made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of KKS Lech Poznań booed when C.C. Ortigia Siracusa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Nuñez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Damian Jaraczeski sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cesare Tristezza skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacy Czekaj in the 55th minute of play forced C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's goalkeeper Cesare Tristezza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, C.C. Edward Golec took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesare Tristezza. Cesare Tristezza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After some careless play in the C.C. Ortigia Siracusa defense, Ignacy Czekaj kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cesare Tristezza. The C.C. Ortigia Siracusa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cesare Tristezza should have stopped the shot. 94 minutes into the game, George Dănănae was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KKS Lech Poznań the free kick. After 94 played minutes C.C. Ortigia Siracusa got a freekick which was hit by George Dănănae. There was no doubt that KKS Lech Poznań were the better team. KKS Lech Poznań's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
