When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 詹俊 á Bø made a kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Anuna Kis in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Wellington Phoenix's Tadeu Zonta. Luiz Paulo Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Brazil's Duda Mota got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Wellington Phoenix supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wellington Phoenix would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
