Hilmir Alfreðsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Hafís Vörmuhlíð's Hróaldur Þorsteinsson got a free kick in the 15th minute. Efraím Álfgrímsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesar Teofilio in the 16th minute of play. Móses Gunnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deportivo Mandiyu's Roque Narvaja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hilmir Alfreðsson in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Cesar Teofilio made a precise shot to the right of Efraím Álfgrímsson. Hafís Vörmuhlíð's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Hróaldur Þorsteinsson hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Efraím Álfgrímsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cesar Teofilio's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Cesar Teofilio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Efraím Álfgrímsson. The goal made the score 2-0. Arne Bronco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efraím Álfgrímsson having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Deportivo Mandiyu's Cesar Teofilio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Efraím Álfgrímsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dofri Albertsson to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Hafís Vörmuhlíð was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dofri Albertsson to maneuver through the defense. Dofri Albertsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roque Narvaja read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesar Teofilio in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Efraím Álfgrímsson saved Hafís Vörmuhlíð from getting behind. When Deportivo Mandiyu's Cesar Teofilio, in the 57th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Mandiyu. In the 60th minute, Cesar Teofilio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After having played for 65 minutes, Cesar Teofilio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Mandiyu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesar Teofilio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aristides Hermelando hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. When Benigno Larpe came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Deportivo Mandiyu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benigno Larpe couldn't finish the play. Bergmann Pétursson hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hafís Vörmuhlíð's goalkeeper Efraím Álfgrímsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Mandiyu fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hafís Vörmuhlíð had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
