The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Enzo Luongo might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dino Roberto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Italy were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Villadeatese FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anfilogino Pantani took the corner. A well done corner resulted in Rui Costa drilling the ball in to score 5-1 behind Villadeatese FC's goalkeeper. In the 47th minute, Enzo Luongo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dino Roberto was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enzo Luongo was the one to do the kick off. Dino Roberto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1.
