Ged Nightingale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viktors Behmans in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute Olavs Eliass shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ged Nightingale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Bryan Barron threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Iecēni's Uvis Svitiņš quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ged Nightingale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marek Hamšík, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save FC Iecēni from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute, Şanver Enginer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marek Hamšík kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Larry Ferrell made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 35thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Genaro Ponciano would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Genaro Ponciano stood somewhat misplaced when Larry Ferrell came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 35 minute. A hard shot 39 in the game by Grzegorz Piechna from a close distance when the talented Genaro Ponciano managed to make a qualified save. FC Iecēni's players were relieved. Grzegorz Piechna in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Genaro Ponciano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ged Nightingale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marek Hamšík, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute, Grzegorz Piechna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Genaro Ponciano. The goal made the score 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

FC Iecēni's attentive Viesturs Pilāns managed to snatch the ball when Connor Pringle made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Stenkvist in the 57th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Marty Simpson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Ponciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Barron in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when FC Iecēni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gogo Elorregui didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Iecēni made a substitution. Osvalds Borskis replaced Olafs Buncis. After 66 played minutes FC Iecēni got a freekick which was hit by Gogo Elorregui. An unexpectedly hard shot by Larry Ferrell in the 69th minute of play forced FC Iecēni's goalkeeper Genaro Ponciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Iecēni's Viktors Behmans got a free kick in the 71st minute. Ged Nightingale made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Olavs Eliass sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Larry Ferrell in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genaro Ponciano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the match, FC Iecēni's Olavs Eliass sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ged Nightingale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marty Simpson in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grzegorz Piechna in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. After 86 minutes FC Iecēni's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Grzegorz Piechna who took care of the corner kick. Arrows Academy FC's Grzegorz Piechna was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Genaro Ponciano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olavs Eliass got free with Ged Nightingale in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A nice corner shot did that Olavs Eliass got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ged Nightingale quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 94 minutes into the match, Arrows Academy FC's goalkeeper Ged Nightingale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olavs Eliass.
