Grigoriy Stepanenko got in the 33rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Wieslaw Panasewicz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Novokuznetsk's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Reynaldo Montrelle scored to the left of an out of position Antonis Anastasiadis, making the score, 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Novokuznetsk's zone, Reynaldo Montrelle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonis Anastasiadis came out of the goal and Reynaldo Montrelle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute Reynaldo Montrelle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonis Anastasiadis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Novokuznetsk's Antonis Anastasiadis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Montrelle in the 87th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonis Anastasiadis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Gimnasia y tiro's Reynaldo Montrelle dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. The Novokuznetsk supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gimnasia y tiro's performance. The match ended with a win for Gimnasia y tiro.
