Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Loureiro in the 25th minute of play. Orlando Beltza came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Igor Taffarel could save by the left post. Marcos Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Loureiro in the 31st minute of play. In the 37thth minute of the game Davi Dal Bello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dal 3ello were furious when Bernardinho Corrêa was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Saverio Iraitz charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saverio Iraitz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Saverio Iraitz hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Diogo Dal Bello made a great header on Dal 3ello's corner, it was just that Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo managed to reach the ball for a save. With his leg Marcos Ranolfo managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Dal 3ello's Acácio Magalhães fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 97th minute, Kraig Fred made a precise shot to the right of Igor Taffarel. Dal 3ello's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Estudiantes de América fans cheered their team off the field, for while Dal 3ello had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
