With a little luck, Dogelo's Võ Gozali got control of the ball when Dani Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Honorio Efraim scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Võ Gozali, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dogelo's Võ Gozali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Guerreiro in the 9th minute of play. The throw-in from Ong Mathews in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Dogelo's José Pedro Catarinense. Lino dos Santos's late challenge caught a Sport Club Mavericks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. Lino dos Santos hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Sport Club Mavericks's Armando Guerreiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Guerreiro got free with Võ Gozali in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lino dos Santos struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Telmo de Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dogelo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Guerreiro in the 30th minute of play forced Dogelo's goalkeeper Võ Gozali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Custódio came free, but Telmo de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Lino dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lino dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Telmo de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Telmo de Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino dos Santos in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute, José Pedro Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Võ Gozali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arí Custódio made a kick off. Võ Gozali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Sport Club Mavericks's Telmo de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino dos Santos in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Guerreiro in the 57th minute of play forced Dogelo's goalkeeper Võ Gozali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lino dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Dogelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino dos Santos couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Guerreiro in the 62nd minute of play forced Dogelo's goalkeeper Võ Gozali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Sport Club Mavericks's Luís Gustavo Coelho was substituted for João Paulo de Sena. In the 63rd match minute, Dogelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Novaes to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute Honorio Efraim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Võ Gozali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Catarinense made in the 71st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Sérgio Gaúcho however managed to control. Armando Guerreiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitinho Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ong Mathews hit a great ball. Telmo de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Bertassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Custódio in the 83rd minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Telmo de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Sport Club Mavericks booed when Dogelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dogelo's zone, Arturo Filippini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Võ Gozali came out of the goal and Arturo Filippini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Armando Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aírton Bertassi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Telmo de Amorim made a huge save. Dogelo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
