Perivaldo Furlan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juarês de Amaral having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonas Torres during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Palmeiras's Carlos Augusto Recife played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Simões in the 5th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Marquês de Herval's zone, Tião Tróia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juarês de Amaral came out of the goal and Tião Tróia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute, Palmeiras's Amadeo Tuste dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Tróia in the 18th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Juarês de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was a well-played corner which Michel Sergipano managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Juarês de Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Torres in the 22nd minute. Juarês de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tião Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Marquês de Herval's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Amadeo Tuste fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Tião Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês de Amaral having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Juarês de Amaral successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tião Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amadeo Tuste didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-0 via right post in the game's 35th minute. Palmeiras's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! The audience was convinced that Tião Tróia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juarês de Amaral was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 40th match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Santos to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, one of Marquês de Herval:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marquês de Herval. Marquês de Herval:s Juarês de Amaral showed great skill when he stopped Perivaldo Furlan:s penalty. 43 minutes into the match, Perivaldo Furlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juarês de Amaral. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Perivaldo Furlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Marquês de Herval's Juarês de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Palmeiras's Toninho Prestes was substituted for Dagoberto Moura. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Simões stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Amadeo Tuste cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Juarês de Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Nilton Soeiro got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilton Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Palmeiras's Jonas Torres has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 79th minute. Marquês de Herval's Dráusio Couto suffered a sprained foot after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Marquês de Herval made a substitution. Roger de Barros replaced Dráusio Couto. In the 86th minute, Bruno Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Palmeiras made a substitution. Rodriguinho Carneiro replaced Artur Fonelleda. Palmeiras's Tião Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juarês de Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonas Torres went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Palmeiras had played much better football throughout.
