The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rui Lara during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 0-2 became the score in the 10th minute when Frank Scarcella elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Valdir Pérez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Scarcella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Valdir Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Scarcella, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abel Dracena went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Frank Scarcella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. After 30 minutes of play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Erasmo de Godoi made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdir Pérez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilvan Pombal's late challenge caught a Jovens Democratas MZC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilvan Pombal helped the player get up and apologised. Gilvan Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Jovens Democratas MZC's Frank Scarcella nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdir Pérez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilvan Pombal got free with Murillo Pinho in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo de Godoi in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Scarcella in the 44th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Scarcella in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdir Pérez saved União Verde FC from getting behind. A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Caco da Mata hit a great ball. The União Verde FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jovens Democratas MZC were winning 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Scarcella to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by Percival Mangueira. In the 58th minute, Abel Dracena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Pérez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Frank Scarcella might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdir Pérez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Scarcella ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the União Verde FC defense, Erasmo de Godoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdir Pérez. The União Verde FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Pérez should have stopped the shot. Jovens Democratas MZC's Giuseppe Negri was substituted for Erasmo de Godoi. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Scarcella in the 72nd minute of play. Frank Scarcella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Jovens Democratas MZC's Maicon de Amorim was substituted for Percival Mangueira. After having played for 76 minutes, Giuseppe Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giuseppe Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vinícius Lago's late challenge caught a Jovens Democratas MZC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after União Verde FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jeremias Britto took the corner. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Maicon de Amorim got a free kick in the 83rd minute. When Giuseppe Negri came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Jovens Democratas MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giuseppe Negri couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match Frank Scarcella climbed in front of goal and pressed up 0-11 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Valdir Pérez. Giuseppe Negri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Valdir Pérez made a huge save.
