Valdir Pérez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Mario Duplantier sped through União Verde FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Valdir Pérez. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Duplantier in the 15th minute of play. If Artur de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Mario Duplantier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdir Pérez was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cuca Teixeira in the 27th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mario Duplantier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdir Pérez having to make a save. In the 39thth minute of the game Mario Duplantier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Gilvan Pombal fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Gilvan Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ogro F.C. booed when União Verde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilvan Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ogro F.C.'s goalkeeper Osmar Maciel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 48 minutes in the game, Mario Duplantier dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Ogro F.C.'s Tico Torres was substituted for Mike Terrana. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cuca Teixeira to make the kick off. If Cuca Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Valdir Pérez managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Ogro F.C.'s Cuca Teixeira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vinícius Lago hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the game, Cuca Teixeira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Valdir Pérez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Caco da Mata hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Ogro F.C.'s Artur de Castro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdir Pérez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tico Torres's late challenge caught a União Verde FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tico Torres helped the player get up and apologised. Tico Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Cuca Teixeira put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Valdir Pérez. Cuca Teixeira took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdir Pérez. Valdir Pérez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cuca Teixeira in the 96th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cuca Teixeira. The União Verde FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ogro F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
